Nothing is more rewarding for us than receiving positive feedback – from other fostering professionals, from foster carers, and, above all, from the children and young people we’re all working to support. Below you can read just a few of their comments and thoughts.
“We are very lucky to have an excellent level of support from our Orange Grove social worker. Our supervision sessions have proved to be of asset, allowing us to draw and benefit from her knowledge and experience.”
When I’m old, no one will care how much money I have but I will know if I’ve made a difference in life of a child and that’s what matters to me.
The five-year old thrived with us and it was great seeing that, she was like our own daughter – we did a lot of things together as a family.
We have been truly blessed with our placements. We obviously had no experience with children of our own but it was like a duck to water and it’s amazing how much you pick up.
People underestimate how a warm dinner, a story at bedtime and a smile in the morning can make such a difference in a child’s life.
Although the role is challenging, the rewards far outweigh them.
It was an opportunity to provide vulnerable children that really need a helping hand during troubled times a secure and loving environment. It was without a doubt the best decision I’ve made.
We decided that we wanted to give something back, we’ve got two spare rooms, time and a loving home, so for us fostering seemed like a good vocation.
It’s not always easy but perseverance and understanding that they are just children will make a huge difference in their lives and also yours.
Knowing that by offering your home, your time, love and attention these children can go on to actually enjoy childhood.
“I’ve been so inspired by fostering, Tara* and Marcus* in particular, to see them flourish gives you a real sense of achievement.”
