Orange Grove is a National Independent Fostering Organisation with six registrations operating across the country. Orange Grove is and is committed to promoting positive outcomes for the children and young people in placement.

 The Quality Assurance and Safeguarding Manager will be responsible for Quality Assurance and Safeguarding and will be accountable for work undertaken which will be in accordance with the relevant legislative and regulatory framework and Orange Groves Policy and Procedures

This role will include coordinating and leading on tasks relative to QA and Safeguarding work.

As the Quality Assurance and Safeguarding Manager, the post holder will act as Panel Advisor on the PiCS joint fostering panels and be involved in pre-inspection planning and panel business.

Fundamentally, the post holder will be required to undertake tasks on all activities within the context of Quality Assurance which lead to each registration achieving ‘outstanding’ practices across Orange Grove and ensuring that children are safeguarded.

Salary: £14,430 -£19,240

To provide direct and indirect support to children and young people, living with foster families, alongside birth children and foster carers to promote the stability of placements. You will also be responsible for arranging activities and workshops for Children Looked After and Birth children alongside family day’s out for the Region. There is an expectation that you will provide succinct verbal and written reports and attend meetings with Professionals from Education, Health, Social Services etc to support children / young people’s care plans.

To be considered for this role you should have relevant child care experience, be able to work flexible hours, act on your own initiative and have the ability to relate positively to children, young people, birth families, foster carers, social workers and other associated professionals. It is essential that you are passionate about improving the lives of children and young people and have a clear understanding of safe care.

You will be attached to the Burgess Hill office, although you will only be expected to attend for certain meetings once or twice per month on average. You must hold a valid driving license, own your own car and be confident to travel across the Hampshire, Berkshire and West Sussex regions.

We are looking for an experienced Panel Member, with medical / health experience, to join our Panel team at Orange Grove.

Competitive Pay.

Job Description:

  • To read the circulated papers carefully before the meeting and to attend the meeting prepared to raise issues and to contribute to the Panel discussion.
  • To take responsibility for participating in the making of a recommendation, on each case, drawing on both personal and professional knowledge and experience.
  • To attend meetings of the Panel as specified in your agreement with the agency.
    To be prepared to attend additional Panels if requested.
  • To participate, with other Panel members, in advising on policy and procedural matters as required.
  • To address diversity issues and promote anti-discriminatory practice.
  • To safeguard the confidentiality of all Panel papers and Panel discussions.
  • To participate in induction and in Panel training, which will be at least one day per year.
  • To participate constructively in the annual review of the Panel, as required by the agency.
