We are currently looking to recruit a Registered Manager to continue to expand and develop our Registered Offices in Staffordshire. You should be a qualified social worker, who has at least 3 years of experience of working with Looked After children and Foster Carers. You are required to have a Management qualification and/or Management experience. You should also have a good understanding of the appropriate and relevant legislation and regulations.

You will need to have strong team leadership skills to create a ‘can do’ environment of high achievement with a focus on problem solving and creative solutions. Have the ability to make timely and effective decisions and lead by example, understanding when to consult with or defer to others. Be able to build and facilitate relationships, both internally and external to the organisation. You will be prepared to work flexible hours as required to carry out the role of Registered Manager successfully.

We are seeking an applicant to provide direct and indirect support to children and young people living with foster families, alongside birth children and foster carers to promote the stability of placements. You will also be responsible for arranging activities and workshops for Children Looked After and birth children alongside family events and days out for the region. There is an expectation that you will provide succinct verbal and written reports and attend meetings with professionals from education, health, Social Services etc to support children / young people’s care plans.

To be considered for this role you should have relevant child care experience, be able to work flexible hours, act on your own initiative and have the ability to relate positively to children, young people, birth families, foster carers, social workers and other associated professionals. It is essential that you are passionate about improving the lives of children and young people and have a clear understanding of safe care.

You will be attached to the Milton Keynes office. You must hold a valid driving license, own your own car and be confident to travel by car across the Three Shires.

Hours: 20 hours, 10-3, 4 days per week
Salary: £14,128-22,288 pro-rata + benefits

We are currently looking to recruit a Part Time Administrator to work core hours over four days and to provide an administrative support service to our fostering social team. The role will involve maintaining databases and electronic filing systems, managing fostering paperwork and forms as well as general administration duties. Setting up and minute taking of meetings, and meeting and greeting, so good front of house skills are essential.

The successful candidate must have GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent), a good IT knowledge (which will be tested at interview), and ECDL (or equivalent) is desirable. Previous administration experience is essential.

Job Description:

  • To read the circulated papers carefully before the meeting and to attend the meeting prepared to raise issues and to contribute to the Panel discussion.
  • To take responsibility for participating in the making of a recommendation, on each case, drawing on both personal and professional knowledge and experience.
  • To attend meetings of the Panel as specified in your agreement with the agency.
    To be prepared to attend additional Panels if requested.
  • To participate, with other Panel members, in advising on policy and procedural matters as required.
  • To address diversity issues and promote anti-discriminatory practice.
  • To safeguard the confidentiality of all Panel papers and Panel discussions.
  • To participate in induction and in Panel training, which will be at least one day per year.
  • To participate constructively in the annual review of the Panel, as required by the agency.
