Location:The appointee can choose to be based at Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, Warrington, Cheshire or Doncaster, South Yorkshire, however they must be willing to travel to all three sites as per frequent Panel requirements.

We are currently looking to recruit a Part-Time Panel Administrator on a 12-month maternity cover fixed term contract.

The successful candidate will be accountable for the efficient and effective running of the Orange Grove panel process.

It is essential the successful candidate is highly organised and has good communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team and to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of people.

They must be educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a minimum of Grade C passes in both English and Mathematics, have proven administrative experience, strong IT/Word Processing skills (which will be tested at interview) and an ability to take minutes fluently.

Access to a car, a full clean driving licence, and confidence driving to attend required Panels is essential.

We are currently looking to recruit a Part Time Administrator to work across three days to provide an administrative support service to our fostering social work team.

The role will involve maintaining databases and electronic filing systems, managing fostering paperwork and forms as well as general ad hoc administration. The postholder will also be expected to provide a meet and greet service, set up meetings, and take minutes. greeting, Good front of house skills and a warm, confident personality with outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential.

The successful candidate must have GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent) at Grade C or above, a good IT knowledge (which will be tested at interview) including competency with the Microsoft suite, and ECDL (or equivalent) is desirable. Previous administration experience is essential.

We are looking for a committed social care professional with a sound knowledge of fostering legislation and practice issues who will be able to continue to deliver the same high standards of service.

You will be involved in the recruitment, training and supervision of Foster carers and promoting the welfare of children placed with Orange Grove Fostercare. As a qualified and registered social worker you will have substantial experience of family placement work and preferably experience of foster care practice including the assessment of potential foster carers. A good knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law and safeguarding issues is essential. You will have excellent communication skills and a commitment to high quality practice.

You must hold a valid driving license, own your own car, and be confident to travel across the Buckinghamshire region.

Job Description:

  • To read the circulated papers carefully before the meeting and to attend the meeting prepared to raise issues and to contribute to the Panel discussion.
  • To take responsibility for participating in the making of a recommendation, on each case, drawing on both personal and professional knowledge and experience.
  • To attend meetings of the Panel as specified in your agreement with the agency.
    To be prepared to attend additional Panels if requested.
  • To participate, with other Panel members, in advising on policy and procedural matters as required.
  • To address diversity issues and promote anti-discriminatory practice.
  • To safeguard the confidentiality of all Panel papers and Panel discussions.
  • To participate in induction and in Panel training, which will be at least one day per year.
  • To participate constructively in the annual review of the Panel, as required by the agency.
