Our North West office is celebrating after receiving a second consecutive Outstanding Ofsted report since 2015.

The office is responsible for respite, emergency and long and short-term fostering placements for 43 children, in and around Warrington, St Helens, Liverpool, Manchester, Stockport and the surrounding areas.

The agency was praised by inspectors for having “high aspirations for every child in their care and working tirelessly with partner agencies to make sure that children get the best possible support and achieve excellent education and health outcomes.”

Ofsted also commended the support given to foster carers, who improve outcomes for looked after children and young people across the North West of England.

They said: “The agency provides foster carers with an exceptionally good standard of support and scrutiny. They make sure that foster carers are working in the best interests of the children in their care and that they receive the right support, advice and guidance, which enables them to provide children with a high standard of care and protection.”

They also noted: “Foster carers have the warmth, expertise and resilience to provide vulnerable children with safe and nurturing homes.”

Children also report reliable and trusting relationships with their foster carers, feeling a strong sense of acceptance and belonging. One child commented: “This feels like a proper family – they feel inside like my own mum and dad. I feel safe, because I can trust them to look after me.”

Our Registered Manager for the North West office, Heather Sheridan, commented: “I am exceptionally proud of the ongoing commitment, motivation and support the Northwest Team and carer group consistently afford our children and young people.

We work tirelessly with Local Authorities and other professionals to ensure our children’s experience of fostering is positive, life-changing and enables them to believe in themselves and achieve what they want to achieve.”

Bridgid McCaig, Agency Director, added: “I’m absolutely delighted that Ofsted has rated Orange Grove North West as Outstanding for a second time running. This is testament to the hard work of the whole team and I couldn’t be prouder of the outcomes delivered to children in our care.”

To celebrate the good news, we bought our North West family of staff and foster carers together for lots of fun, food and laughter. Here are some snaps from the event.
